Consumer Education

The International Code Council Foundation is dedicated to supporting ICC Members and ICCF Partners in their efforts to educate consumers about building safety and its critical role in life safety and property protection. The Foundation supports consumer outreach at the local level by ICC Members as it is essential to achieve this education goal. The Foundation collaborates with various groups to ensure its partners receive technically accurate, reliable and useful resources to help support community outreach and education.

Building Safety Month

First observed in 1980, Building Safety Month annually raises public awareness of critical safety issues affecting every person, regardless of age or occupation. These entail the structural soundness of the buildings where we live and work, reliability of fire prevention and suppression systems, plumbing and mechanical systems, and energy efficiency and sustainability.
